Risk Warning: Trading Digital Options

September 2026

What this warning covers

This disclosure applies to digital options and binary options trading as offered by offshore platforms including Quotex. Read this document fully before depositing money on any platform of this type.

How digital option contracts work

A digital options contract requires you to predict whether the price of an asset will be above or below its current level when the contract expires. A correct prediction returns your stake plus a fixed payout, typically between 70% and 95%. An incorrect prediction results in the loss of the full stake on that contract. There is no incremental outcome: every trade produces a complete win or a complete loss of the amount staked.

The structural loss probability

A trader who wins exactly half of all trades will still lose money over time. The payout on a winning trade is under 100% of the stake. The loss on a losing trade is 100% of the stake. This asymmetry gives the platform a mathematical advantage on every trade placed, independent of the individual trader's skill or knowledge.

No ownership of the underlying asset

Placing a trade on a currency pair, cryptocurrency or commodity on Quotex does not transfer ownership of that asset to you. No coin is added to a wallet. No currency is held. No commodity is delivered. The contract settles entirely in cash and carries no residual value once the expiry time passes.

Offshore broker risk

Quotex is registered offshore and holds no license from SECP, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. Pakistani users have no access to a local investor compensation scheme or a domestic regulatory authority that can compel the platform to act. In the event of a withdrawal dispute, platform insolvency or closure, available recourse is limited to the broker's own internal complaint process, which is not independently supervised.

Technology and connection risk

Executing trades through a mobile app or web browser introduces connectivity risk. A trade may fail to execute at the intended moment if your connection drops during submission. OTC asset prices on the Quotex platform are generated internally and may not match any externally available market data source.

Who should not use these platforms

Do not trade digital options if you are under 18 years old; if you cannot absorb the loss of your entire deposit; if you require a predictable or regular income from trading; or if you need the investor protections that come with a regulated financial institution. Digital options are not suitable as a primary or supplementary income strategy.

Seek independent advice

Before depositing real money on any digital options platform, consider speaking with a licensed financial adviser who understands your personal financial position. This site does not provide individualized financial guidance of any kind.
